What is a cafe racer electric bike?
The cafe racer is a type of custom motorcycle as well as a type of electric bike. It generally refers to a retro-style single-seater motorcycle or ebike, with low handlebars and very little fairing.

Electric Cafe Racer Bicycle History
The Rockers were a young, unruly rock ‘n’ roll counterculture who wanted a fast, custom, quirky motorcycle to travel from cafe to cafe along England ‘s newly built motorways and around British towns.
This movement was born when racers rejected motorcycles oriented for transport by removing all the unnecessary parts according to them. The motorcycle has a raw, streamlined and functional appearance, while the engine is tuned for full power.
As speed took precedence over comfort, the bikes received single-seater saddles and low, straight handlebars, mounted directly to the fork tubes, for more precise control and to escape the wind. Half or sometimes all of the fairings and tanks, handcrafted from aluminum, were frequently left raw and unpainted.
These motorcycles are thin, light and easy to handle.
The cafe racer has a lot in common with the chopper or bobber scene in the United States and both have their roots in World War II veterans.
All are trying to make standard factory motorcycles faster and lighter, although only the Europeans are trying to make them more mobility. The distinguishing factor is the nature of the difference between American roads and the European road network, with Americans preferring heavy-duty and low-profile cuts for linear comfort, and Europeans preferring taller, more agility motorcycles for Europe’s winding roads.
Cafe racers were also called Street Fighters in reference to the planes of World War II veterans.
Cafe racer culture
The term “cafe racer” is still used to describe motorcycles and bikers of a certain style. A cafe racer is a motorcycle that has been modified for speed and handling at the expense of comfort.
Now worthy of the ‘cafe racer culture’ label, the term ‘cafe racer’ has been around since the 1950s in reference to motorcycles used in English racing from cafe to cafe; the term is now taking on a new dimension by bringing together all lovers of Japanese, Italian and English motorcycles from the 1950s to the end of the 1970s . The movement is thus distinguished from racers who have chosen a Harley or a modern Japanese.
Alcohol affecting driving, and being dangerous when combined with any motor sport; this explains the choice of café racers, who preferred to stop for a coffee rather than an alcoholic drink. This aspect radically opposes the café racers to the American choppers , alcohol being rather accepted in the culture and the cultural imagination of the choppers.
The Cafe Racer electric version
It’s official: the future will be “electric”!
The Cafe Racer will be astandard bike and an electric bike . So you ask yourself: what power, what torque, what speed, what range?
